† Guidelines - READ THIS BEFORE REQUESTING A LINE! I know, I know. A rules post. Sadly, they're needed to ensure awesome RP experiences for both of us. So, I'm a US Eastern seaboard gal and over 21. Be at least 18 before commenting in my journal. Right now I'm gaga for PB storylines that are long-term, original, and epic; no fandom or celeb and no communities. PSLs only. I play in storybook format.
Threads are my jam, man. I'm not picky about replies, including their length and when I receive them. I usually reply at least once a day, but sometimes I'll write more or less frequently, depending on my schedule. I'll always say something if I'll be gone for more than three days. I like quality from my players. One-liners and senseless fluff are pointless. Take initiative and push forward the scene. Be bold and daring~ Personally, I prefer to create character journals and include lots of icons, but I don't require my partner to fall into line. If you use your CDJ or PSL journal for lines, have at it!
Slash for romance. I'm not "prejudice" against het or femme, but I enjoy slash most and what's the point of RP if you don't play what you enjoy? Take note that I like organic romance, meaning I like the romance to write itself. Don't push your character to dive into bed with mine. If it takes awhile for them to snog, shag, whatever, then it's perfectly okay with me. Adult scenes are great in moderation. I have squicks and this list includes self-harm, rape or non-con, major abuse of power, and stereotypical tops/bottoms or doms/subs. Trust me, I'll end the line if I'm feeling uncomfortable. Child and animal abuse is another big no-no.
For me, the "basic" rules of RP apply. No god-modding, bullying, harassment, or repeated abuse of the English language. Mind your grammar and spelling! Don't be a big smelly jerk! Exercise a bit of common sense, and we'll definitely get along well. I play for fun. Honestly, don't we've enough stress in our real life without dragging it onto the internet? I think a direct approach is the best policy. If you're not feeling a line, then tell me and we can either end or revamp it. No vanishing into thin air. You're not as slick as you think you are, Carmen Sandiego.
PBs shouldn't be the central focus of our line. I have a few preferences, of course, and at the moment, I only play actors and tend not to play against emo/band kids or myspace folks.
One last thing and I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but I feel very uncomfortable when my SL partner goes into detail about his/her depression, horrible parents, current unemployment, sex life, etc. I'm here to role-play and quite frankly, I'm not interested in sob stories. I'm a friendly person, but I'm gonna have OOC contact kept at a minimum in order for the line to progress.
† Storyline Elements & Coolness To refresh your memory! I'm only looking for original PB and slash lines at this time.
§ Genres: Horror, dystopia, post-apocalyptic, crime, modern recreations of classic literature, school drama [high school or university], work drama, and historical [mostly Victorian Era since I know the most about it but I'm willing to try other periods, provided you're willing to put up with occasional errors]. Not big into supernatural or urban fantasy, but I will play fairytale re-tellings and have no problems dipping my toes into a fantasical place. Time-travel is also an idea that tickles my fancy. § Love Me: Best friends turned lovers [realistic, though], sexuality conflict, conflict of interests, dysfunctional relationships, class differences, forbidden love [Romeo&Juliet, baby], love/hate or enemies turned lovers, soul mates. I'm really not interested in any boss/employee [yup, including prostitute/client], student/teacher, or May/December romances. § Other: NPCs are love! Our two main characters will be great, of course, but I also enjoy fleshing out their world and families/friends/etc create a stronger story.
